Depending on where the leased property is located and whether the matter involves residential tenancy (PIE Act) or commercial premises, proceedings must be lodged in the correct court of competent jurisdiction:

Located at De Villiers Street, North End, Gqeberha. Handles uncontested and contested residential matters up to standard regional monetary caps.
Eastern Cape High Court (Gqeberha)
Located at Bird Street, Central, Gqeberha. Exercises concurrent jurisdiction and is selected for urgent ejectments, substantial commercial arrears, or complex title disputes.
2. Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Section 4(2) Service
In all residential evictions in Gqeberha, the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality must be served by the Sheriff of the Court with the statutory Section 4(2) notice at least 14 court days prior to the hearing date.
